United Christian Youth Camp

Dear Friends,

We know that right now for all of us it is a challenge making ends meet, but I still would like to give you the opportunity to help those who may not be able to make it to camp this summer. For just $94 you can send a child to a life-changing camp experience. Last summer $23,000 was applied to campership's that enabled over 240 campers to attend summer camp. This year we anticipate needing $30,000 in camperships. So far we have raised $7,000 and therefore need to raise an additional $23,000 for the 2009 summer season. To be most effective, this money needs to be raised by June 1.

The camp awards 33% of the cost of camp for each campership. Each applicant is approved by the local pastor. The applicant also gives us more information that helps us decide to whom to award the campership.

Two examples of the value of camperships from this summer's applicants caught my attention:

"We have 5 children and are barely making it. We are already receiving state assistance for everything possible. My husband lost his job in May and is working 2 jobs now."

"I am a single mother with a chronic illness raising my 3 children on my Social Security disability. I am trying to send 2 of my kids to camp this year."

Good News! We've recently received an offer from a donor to match funds 1:2 up to $5,000. Therefore, when we raise $18,000, the matching fund of $5,000 will be added to the total which would allow us to reach our goal of $23,000.

With your help we are looking to provide help for over 300 campers who otherwise would not have the opportunity.
