OUTDOOR EDUCATION MANAGER

Reports to: Guest Services Director

The Outdoor Education Manager serves as a member of the Guest Services team with an emphasis on:
1. Developing and managing all components of any UCYC outdoor education programs.
2. Seeking new ways to spread the word about UCYC’s outdoor education programs, to ensure their growth..

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Developing any UCYC outdoor education programs.
  • Hiring top notch staff that meet UCYC culture requirements and managing them
    accordingly.
  • Creating systems to best communicate essential event details to the relevant teams
    including but not limited to Dining Services, Guest Services, Facilities, and Accommodations.
  • Coordinating a strategic marketing plan with the marketing department to grow
    outdoor education programs.
  • Assisting in the training and managing of recreation staff to ensure a great guest
    experience.
  • Working well with both the Guest Services team as well as the UCYC team at large, building trust and strong working relationships..

Qualifications

  • Experience working with other outdoor education programs as a facilitator or manager.
  • Proximity to those building and establishing an outdoor education program.
    experience marketing such a program to school staff/ decision makers.

Working Conditions
May work long hours during events.

Physical Requirements
May work outdoors/standing for long periods of time. May need to lift heavy objects/ be physically active.


Application - Outdoor Education Manager

COOK

Reports to: Dining Services Director

Cooks are responsible for preparing and serving high quality meals to our guests. This person is able to work quickly and produce a quality experience along side the rest of our team. This role is also a team player and supports the needs of all team members.

The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff to prepare buffet style meals during dining hours.
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
  • Maintain accurate food inventories.
  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures marking the date.
  • Cook menu items for the day with minimal amount of oversight, with excellent
    quality and within time allotted.
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedures.
  • Restock Kitchen for subsequent shifts.
  • Assist and support kitchen staff in their duties.
  • Maintain line of sight and atmosphere control by circulating through work areas throughout shift.
  • Ensure that kitchen, salad bar, walk in coolers, and freezers remain clean and free of hazards during shift.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of Food Service experience in a cooking capacity.
  • Supervisory experience over other food service staff.
  • Able to read and understand directions and recipes clearly and precisely.
  • Performance under stress and time constraints.
  • Can quickly think on the fly and make adjustments as needed.
  • Reliable and Accountable.

Physical Requirements
Able to lift 50lbs. Can be up and moving 90% of shift.

DINING SERVICE STAFF

Reports to: Dining Services Manager

The purpose of this position is to assist in creating the ideal dining experience for campers and guests to commune together and with Jesus over a meal. Whether behind the scenes or out in front this position is responsible for serving others well.

The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures marking the date on them.
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedures.
  • Coordinate food preparation with other Dining Hall Staff.
  • Ensure that kitchen and salad bar area , including, walk in coolers, and freezers remain clean and free of hazards during shift.
  • Execute all tasks and assignments in a timely manor
  • Make sure dining area is well maintained and satisfaction of campers is met.
  • Keep floors clean, free of spills, food, trash and other obstacles.
  • Properly use dishwasher to clean dishes, silverware, glasses, pots, pans and etc.
  • Maintain UCYC’s safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older and be able to regularly lift 20+ pounds with out difficulty. Able to read and take directions to fulfill duties.
  • A positive and upbeat personality and out look on life is crucial.
  • We are looking for people that understand hard work but are able to have fun while doing the best job then can.
  • No prior experience is necessary, only those that are ready to learn and are reliable.

Working Conditions
Must be available to work 2 shifts per week. Preferably Fri-Sun. We do have openings for mid day M-Th as well.

Physical Requirements
Lift 20+ pounds. On your feet standing/moving about 90% of shift.

FUNDRAISING DIRECTOR/CONSULTANT

The Fundraising Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of UCYC’s fundraising including, the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns. The Director works closely with the CEO and Executive Team in all development and fund raising endeavors.

Key Result Areas: 

  • Develop strategies to recruit new donors and increase contributions
  • Generate new ideas to increase fundraising to meet or exceed revenue goals

GUEST SERVICES EVENTS ADMINISTRATOR

Reports to: Guest Services Operations Manager

The Guest Services Events Administrator will work with group leaders to collect all retreat details and place them in the proper camp management system. This will allow the opportunity for guests to experience the outdoors, community, and the love of Christ.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for contacting group leaders in a systematized & timely manner.
  • Responsible for receiving all necessary guest group retreat details by necessary deadlines.
  • Responsible for entering data into camp management system.
  • Utilize existing systems that allow guest needs to be effectively communicated to other departments.
  • Effectively communicate specific guest needs to the appropriate departments.
  • Ensure that UCYC’s standard of service is being met through the retreat planning process.
  • Build relationships with groups & group leaders beyond initial retreat that will further build advocacy for UCYC.
